Final Blog

PART 1
I believe that my mind is a creating mind. I am teh kind of person who always wants to know more, and puts fourth my ideas aw well. I consider myself to by a very creative person, therefore it just makes sence that i would have a creative mind as well. I enjoy creating new ways of thinking that the avaerage mind would not consider.

PART 2
I am a person who exhibits curiosity because I love learning new things. I do not settle for a yes or no answer, and finding new solutions is something I really enjoy. I am also someone who experiments with knew ideas. The reason i am so interested in art and science classes is because there is always something knew to try. I am taking an A.P. art class and in that class we must experiment new ways to creat our art work. This interests me because I become very bored if I am always doing the same thing, therefore trying new things in my art class is a way to express my creativity. Lastly, I am the kind of person who exhibits respect for others viewpoints. Especially when it comes to religion. As someone who is constantly struggling in the faith, I completly understand where others are comming from when they talk about differences in religion. I belive that everyone has the right to their own opinion, and that everyones opinopn should he heard and respected.

PART 3
What supprised me most after doing my blog was that there is an emense amount of things that people in my class feel so strongly about. Strong enough to create an entire blog, with multiple entries. I think it is very neat how everyone can pick a topic that interests them, and clearly express their feelings and ideas about that topic. I think what I learned most is that eveyone has an opinion, and if you take the time to listen to someones ideas, you could learn from them, and maybe even benifit from it.

Beauty Tips from around the world!

In the video she goes through different beauty secrets from around the world. We receive a first had experience of the way women use various things to capture what is considered to be beauty in their society.
As i was researching the way beauty affects women, i came across the book, The Beauty Myth, published in 1991. The book by Naomi Wolf, examines beauty as a demand and as a judgment upon women. Subtitled How Images of Beauty Are Used Against Women, Wolf examines how modern conceptions of women's beauty impact the spheres of employment, culture, religion, sexuality, eating disorders, and cosmetic surgery. This book takes you through different cultures, and how women are pressured to conform to an idealized concept of female beauty.

Beauty in the future

If beauty trends continue as expected, we should continue to experience a return to an era of romance. While the younger generation will continue to explore new trends and revel in their own rebellious nature, their parents will find their own niche. They will express their individual point of view no matter the trends of the day. It will be a world that allows for individualism, at least when it comes to dress and cosmetics. Men's fashion will not change drastically. There will be tailored clothing for those who choose that style and plenty of comfortable casual wear for the man who is more laid back. Hairstyles will remain fairly short overall, but that doesn't mean that men won't choose to grow out their locks if they want to. Beards and mustaches won't gain much more notoriety but five o'clock shadow will continue to be cool when it comes to casual situations.Women's fashion will be remain varied and colorful. There will be choices in both extremes and everywhere in between. One might call this the "leather and lace" generation. Women will feel free to express their feminine side with sumptuous laces, beautiful silks, satins and velvets for nights on the town. However, they will feel equally comfortable in menswear-inspired suits and separates that are perfect for the boardroom. Denim will continue to have a strong influence in casual wear, while sweaters and cardigans will grow in popularity.

Todays beauty secrets #2

--Always have your eyebrows perfectly groomed and you will always look put-together, no matter how much makeup you're wearing or not wearing.

--instead of those thirty dollar "sea salt scrubs" or "sugar scrubs", make your own at home. Take olive oil, mix in either coarse salt or sugar, scrub over your skin in a circular motion for at least two minutes, then rinse off with rather cool water. You'll notice instantly softer skin.

--Buying a neutral shade of lipstick (not dark brown or bright red) can turn it into a three way tool for your face.. you can use it as a cream blush, cream eyeshadow, or lip color in a pinch.

why do woman spend so much on beauty?

One reason that some believe is true is mating. The believe that women feel as if they are always in competition with other women to be attractive to their mate, or future mate. Theses days, this competition is getting out of control. Because men view celebrities as their idea of good looking, women around the world are trying to compete with these thin, beautiful celebrities. This has caused girls to become anorexic, bulimic, or other threatening conditions, because they feel that they have to keep up with the celebrities in order to be attractive to men. There are times when it is okay for a women to make an effort to look good, because it makes them feel powerful and confident. However, there comes a certain point when women can take it to far.

Being beautiful is something every girl dreams about from the time they are little girls. And it is the cosmetic industry who targets these women making them believe that their products can make them beautiful and give them the self confidence they need. On average, a low-maintenance middle aged women will spend 3,000 dollars on all cosmetics combined in one year. Its adds such as mascara that can double the length of your lashes, or face wash that can clear your face in 24 hours, or jeans that can make you look 10 pounds lighter, or cosmetic surgery that can make you look 10 years younger, that are giving girls false hope, and taking their money. What girls don't understand is that the true beauty secrets are confidence and inner beauty, two things that don't cost a dime.

-- be sure to take my poll at the bottem of the page! (:
Women, and sometimes men, will go to the extreme to look and feel beautiful. Even the recent recession has not stopped women from beautifying themselves. I experience this first hand, because i work at a salon and day spa called Wildflowers. The Average women comes in every 4 to 6 weeks and receives a 35 to 45 dollar haircut, along with either highlights or color ranging from 50 to 70 dollars. Then add on the products bought by these women and men which get get as expensive as 70 dollars. This does not even include our spa services, which are 50 dollar pedicures, 25 dollar manicures, 45 to 180 dollar facials, 50 to 70 dollar massages, and much more. When people treat themselves to a nice day of pampering it does a lot for their emotions. It makes them feel good about who they are and can often turn a bad day into a good one.
